CFPEA on Strike

CFPEA on StrikeCurrently, CFPEA is at a contract impasse with City of Fresno.  After over 12 months of negotiations,  the City of Fresno Last Best Final Offer (LBFO) was rejected by the membership in early December 2024.   On Thursday, December 12, 2024 the City was notified that the CFPEA will be striking on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 and Wednesday, December 18, 2024.  All members are able to participate in this job action.  Members please login for more details.  Points of contention:

Pay:

  • City has offered 2% increase and a one time 1% lump sum.  CFPEA wants 3% increase.  US Bureau of Labor Statistics show a 3.2% CPI increase.
  • CFPEA and City of Fresno previously agreed to a 2018 Class and Comp Study.  City has yet to finish the salaries increase identified in the 2017/2018 study.  Another Class and Comp study needs to be completed but CFPEA demands that the City of Fresno pay its obligations!

Conditions of Employment:

  • CFPEA wants at minimum of 1 day off per week for members with no phone calls, worksite visits, staff supervision, etc.  City has been silent.
  • CFPEA wants to have members in the same job positions in the same departments to have the ability to select workshifts via seniority.  City has been silent
